Joaquín Demetrio Casasús
Joaquín Demeterio Casasús (Frontera, Tabasco, 23 December 1858 – New York, United States, 25 February 1916), was a Mexican Economist, Jurist, politician, Diplomat and Writer. He was a member of the Academia Mexicana de la Lengua, the correspondent academy in Mexico of the Real Academia de la Lengua Española, since 1904. He was the director of the Academy from 1912 until his death in 1916.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title= Esbozo histórico de la Academia Mexicana de la Lengua )〕 He was also the Mexican Ambassador to America around 1910.
== Studies and Academia ==
He studied Law at the Escuela Nacional de Jurisprudencia of México. After graduating he was made Secretary of State of Tabasco. At the same time, he was a Professor of Law and Economics at the Universidad de México.
During his lifetime he participated in the writing of the Mexican Code of Commerce of 1889 and the Law of Creditary Institutions and Monetary Laws .
